Kairos Outside Sisters and Brothers, I am blessed to be able to lead #17 weekend, we will touch many lives with God’s help. The team is shaping up nicely, and the guest names are being sent in each week. God will be on this weekend to minister thru us to the ladies and I feel he ministers to the team as well. I look forward to the time ahead although I am very nervous about being in front of so many people, God will help me thru as will the team. I would like to take this time to thank all of you who worked weekends in the past, as I try to gather up team members I realize how much time and effort it takes to work these weekends as well as expense. Thank you and know if God brought you to it, He will get you Through it.
All my love, Kathy Wilson
*Our great appreciation and heartfelt prayers for a hundred-fold return of blessings to our former Kairos Outside Leader for #16 in April 2007, at Lone Tree Bible Ranch in Capitan, New Mexico, our loving sister Philia Wilson! You Did It Philia! Love, Hugs, and Kisses to you Always!
It is with great pleasure that I am writing this letter about the #16 weekend. The lives of the guests were touched by God and the team was glorified. The weekend held many challenges and God withthe teams help met those challenges. The weekend was held at Lone Tree Bible Ranch. The team arrived on time, and with everyone’s help, we were ready for the guests when they arrived. When the guests arrived, it took me back to the time on #6 when as a guest, I arrived and all the Ladies were there to meet me and take me to my room. I was nervous and not sure what to expect. I now know what a powerful ministry God had brought me to that day. As I said before the weekend held many challenges, what we must all try to remember is that God has a plan and he will lead us thru all challenges and hurtles his way and in his time. I want to thank all the team for there hard work and for taking up all the slack and pitching in where ever they were needed. May God bless all of you in the future.
Philia Wilson The Kairos State Chapter Committee is made up of representatives from each Kairos and Kairos Outside Advisory Council within the state. The State Chapter Committee operates under the authority of the Kairos Prison Ministries International Board. Their purpose is to facilitate growth and maintenance of Kairos ministries within the state. The State Chapter Committee elects a representative to the Kairos International Board of Directors. It is the responsibility of the representative to keep the state committee informed of the policies and procedures of the Kairos Board. The State Chapter Committee is a servant group, which directs and supports the work of volunteers engaged in the mission of the Kairos ministry. The Committee meets quarterly. Our first meeting this year was held February 2 in Lovington. Lea County Correctional Facility Kairos Advisory Council hosted the meeting. We had a well-attended meeting and met many new people. One of our focuses this year is to have our meetings hosted by each of the Kairos Inside Advisory Councils near their facility. By moving around the state, we are hoping to increase our attendance and get more people involved. This was accomplished in Lovington and sets the example and challenge for our other councils for the remainder of the year. LCCF has a very active Kairos Inside group of volunteers. Our next State Chapter Committee meeting is scheduled for May 3 in Albuquerque; it will be hosted by Guadalupe County Correctional Facility Advisory Council. Everyone is invited to attend. All meetings are open and we encourage input from any and all volunteers involved in the Kairos and Kairos Outside ministries. Your Kairos State Chapter Committee members are: Janet Todd, Chair; Felix Morgan, Vice Chair; Wayne McMurtry, Secretary; Bob Paulette, Treasurer; Lucy Rickman, State Financial Secretary; Bob Durrett, International Board Representative; LCCF Representative, David Molin; Grants Correctional Facility for Women Representative, Linette Carlson; SNMCF Representative, Esteban Castorena; KO Representative, Romney Todd; GCCF, Fred DeVries.
